Tariff News

The Tariff News feature provides a curated feed of tariff-related articles from credible global sources. It is designed to keep you informed about trade policy changes, tariff disputes, and market developments that may affect your business -- without the need to monitor dozens of news outlets yourself.


What You Will Find

The news feed focuses on:

  • Tariff policy announcements -- new duties, rate changes, and trade measures
  • Trade disputes and retaliations -- actions between major trading partners
  • Regulatory developments -- new trade agreements, sanctions, and compliance requirements
  • Market impact analysis -- how tariff changes affect specific industries and supply chains

Articles are sourced from credible publications including financial news services, government press releases, and specialized trade media.


Accessing the News Feed

  1. Navigate to News in the left sidebar under Tariff Intelligence.
  2. The page displays a chronological list of recent articles, with the most recent at the top.

News Feed Layout

Each article entry includes:

Field Description
Date The publication date of the article
Title & Summary The article headline and a brief summary of the key points
Source The name of the publishing outlet (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, SCMP)

Filtering and Searching

To find specific articles, use the built-in filter options at the top of the page:

  • Filter by Date -- Select a specific date or date range to narrow results
  • Filter by Title/Summary -- Enter keywords to search within article titles and summaries (e.g., "Section 301", "EU tariff", "semiconductors")
  • Filter by Source -- Focus on articles from specific publications

These filters can be combined to quickly find the information most relevant to your trade corridors and product categories.

Reading Full Articles

The news feed displays summaries within TariffBase. To read the full article:

  1. Click the linked source name in the article entry.
  2. You will be redirected to the original article on the publisher's website.

This approach ensures you always have access to the complete, original reporting while keeping the TariffBase feed focused and scannable.


Daily News Summary

In addition to the full news feed, TariffBase generates a Daily Summary -- a concise briefing that highlights the most significant trade developments of the day. The Daily Summary is:

  • Available on the Dashboard when you log in
  • Optionally delivered to your inbox as a newsletter (configurable in your Account Settings)

The Daily Summary is particularly useful for staying current without spending time reading every individual article.

News Update Frequency

The news feed is refreshed regularly throughout the day. New articles appear as they are published by source outlets and processed by TariffBase. The Daily Summary is generated once per day and covers the previous 24-48 hours of developments.

  • Check the news feed regularly -- even a quick scan of headlines can alert you to important changes.
  • Use keyword filters to create focused views for your specific industry or trade corridors.
  • Subscribe to the Daily Summary newsletter so you never miss critical developments, even on days when you don't log in.
  • Combine with the Regulatory Tracker -- when you see a news article about a new tariff action, check the Regulatory Tracker for structured details including effective dates, affected products, and HS code coverage.
